Portfolio Manager

Mr. van der Meer joined Southeastern Trust in 2018. Born and raised in Johannesburg, South Africa, he graduated in 2003 with a Bachelor of Accounting from Stellenbosch University. He began his career as an equity analyst & portfolio manager within the Private Clients Wealth Management Subsidiary of Africa’s largest bank. A prolific writer, he has written and published over 30 articles on financial analysis and equity valuation, and has been published twice in Accountancy SA, the journal of The South African Institute of Chartered Accountants. In conjunction with professors from the University of Johannesburg, he has also lectured Financial Analysis and Risk & Return to candidates preparing to sit for their final CA(SA) board exam. He is a CFA charterholder and is particularly passionate about portfolio construction and wealth management strategies. Mr. van der Meer serves on the board of the YMCA Camp Ocoee and is a member of the East TN Society of Financial Analysts.
